Toll, dass wir seit gestern (Sonntag, 14.4.2024) so hohen Besuch in der Arktis haben. Die Bundesforschungsministerin Bettina Stark-Watzinger (Bildmitte) und ihre französische Amtskollegin Sylvie Retailleau (daneben rechts) gehören neben vielen weiteren hochrangigen Politiker:innen aus Deutschland, Frankreich und Norwegen zu einer Delegation, die sich die Klimawissenschaft an der deutsch-französischen Forschungsstation AWIPEV zeigen lässt. Am heutigen Montag werden sie sich hier in Ny Alesund auf Spitzbergen unter anderem Observatorien ansehen, die Klimadaten in langfristigen Messreihen erheben. Daran lässt sich unter anderem festmachen, wie sich das Klima über größere Zeiträume entwickelt.
